Calculating Perimeter

The perimeter of a 2D shape is simply the distance around it. For a shape with straight lines, we figure this out by simply adding up the length of the sides. For example, with this rectangle, there are 2 sides with length 3, and 2 sides with length 2. Therefore we add them up to get a perimeter of 2 + 2 + 3 + 3 which equals to 10.
